. 2002 01 2003 - Intel and Microsoft offer Windows XP Service Pack 2 pre-installed on Toshiba... 2000 .
(6) - Number of times the total number of packs is greater than the number of copies of the license per pack.
In February, 2006 Microsoft announced that
Microsoft will preinstall Windows Vista on select Toshiba portable PCs starting in the fall of 2006.
But after that, the word "preinstall" disappeared from the Toshiba website and I was unable to find any evidence that the system software had been updated to Microsoft Vista.
I assume that the "Windows Vista" "Windows Vista" and "Microsoft" "Microsoft" in the above images refer to the bundled software that included a copy of Microsoft Office and Microsoft Internet Explorer along with the installed OS, which is also why the list that is not available online suggests there was only one copy of each available.
Q:
What are the pros and cons of a service based app?
I've just started a new project, an image filtering app, the idea is to have all image creation (capture, transform, etc..) done in a service and then be able to consume this service with an Activity, Fragment, etc..
I have been looking at services, I've looked at the main posts in this question:
Android - When to use service vs activity?
But it's not that clear to me, are there any pros/cons of using services over activities?
A:
There's no inherent pros/cons. The use of Services vs Activities is a matter of personal preference and the actual use case.
Pros:
Less code to write (If you've got lots of Activities, you can do things like save data to be refreshed later)
If you have lots of network IO, a Service makes more sense for the moment
Cons:
Network IO may be harder to test. You might need to use a mocking framework (JMockito is a popular one)
Activity lifecycle stuff can be messy
If you've got a bunch of Activities, it's just extra code to write (though this may be offset by having less code to write)
In terms of architecture, Activities are good for one-off tasks that are related to a main view (e.g. picture editing, or some other "view"). If you need a lot of "views", it's easier to use one Activity for each. If you need to
